Research, Knowledge and Action for a Sustainable Future

The Centre for Environment and Development is an autonomous research, training and consultancy organisation recognised as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO) by the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. CED is a National Key Resource Centre for Drinking Water and Sanitation, an empanelled agency of MoHUA, ICFRE and MoEFCC, and an ISO 9001:2015 Certified Institution.

With headquarters at Thiruvananthapuram, an Eastern Regional Campus at Bhubaneswar and a Regional Centre at Hyderabad, CED has delivered nearly 200 projects over 31 years across multiple Indian states — advancing environment, urban development, water, public health and climate resilience.
