CED has been involved in various IT and IT Enabled Services, especially in fields related to Geoinformatics, Bioinformatics, Management Information Systems and Decision Support Systems.
The Centre is actively engaged in R&D programmes linking Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), developing innovative geospatial solutions for different development sectors and supporting local-level planning across the country.
CED is also involved in training and capacity building in Geoinformatics for different user groups and conducts a Diploma Course in Geoinformatics. Since 1994, the Centre has developed extensive expertise in providing advanced geospatial solutions and services.
